Rural Schools of Jefferson County, Missouri

These records were originally housed at the Jefferson county courthouse in the office of the County School Superintendent, who kept track of each individual school, their teachers and students, etc. After consolidation, each school began hiring its own Superintendent, making this office unnecessary. These records were then moved to the history center at Jefferson College in Hillsboro. Blaine Olsen transcribed these books over a period of about eight months for the Jefferson County Historical Society.
